Sheriff Carter Weaver has announced charges have been filed against a 12-year-old Pawleys Island boy for causing extensive damage to a bathroom at Stables Park reported on Sunday, Feb. 9.
The juvenile was taken into custody on February 11 on a charge of Malicious Damage to Personal Property Exceeding $10,000. State law will not allow the Sheriff to release any further details about this juvenile.
Georgetown County Parks and Recreation officials are still working on estimates of the damage that involved breaking sinks and toilets with a hatchet. Ruptured pipes led to water damage of the facility.
