Victims' Advocates Receive Gifts for Children in Crisis

Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Victims' Advocates Alma Sierra, Caitlin Lavoie and Ashlyn Walters were guests of the Pawleys Island Kiwanis Club September 19. They were grateful to receive hundreds of stuffed animals, which GCSO advocates and deputies give to children in crisis situations. The Victims' Advocates spoke about local trends in domestic violence, abuse, and emergency relocations. Georgetown County is ranked sixth in the state for domestic violence incidents, and 36 children were victims of crime in our county so far this year.
